Virginia Tech will face VCU in the Governor's Holiday Hoops Classic on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the Richmond Coliseum. The game will be broadcat live on the NBC Sports Network.

About This Evening’s Game

The Hokies are 7-3 on the season and 1-0 in ACC action.

The Rams are 9-3 overall after a 72-57 win over Wofford on Tuesday night.

The all-time series is tied, 10-10.

This is the first meeting between the two schools since the 1994-95 season.

Today’s game is part of the Governor’s Holiday Hoops Classic.

VT 61, Miami 60, OT

The Hokies recorded a dramatic come-from-behind victory over Miami, 61-60, in overtime on Dec. 8 in Coral Gables.

Jarell Eddie scored 24 points in the win, while Ben Emelogu came off the bench to score 11 points.

Tech trailed by as many as 13 points in the second half, but came back to win.

Eddie scored Tech’s final 11 points in regulation.

Eddie Honored by ACC

Jarell Eddie was named the ACC Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 8. Eddie scored 34 points in the win over Winthrop and 24 points in the conference win at Miami.

Wilson Ties a Record

Devin Wilson recorded a career-high 11 assists in the win over Furman, tying Dell Curry’s Virginia Tech freshman record for assists in a game.

So far this season, 10 different Hokies have recorded at least 10 points or more in a game.

Tech will return to Cassell Coliseum on Dec. 28 to play UNC Greensboro at noon.
