Yankees honor Virginia Tech victims during Sunday night game
The team held a moment of silence before the national anthem

The New York Yankees baseball team held a moment of silence and displayed the image above on the Yankee Stadium video board before the national anthem at tonight’s nationally televised game on ESPN against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Today marked the 10th anniversary of the tragedy that took place on Virginia Tech campus. The Yankees played an exhibition game against the Hokies’ baseball team in March 2008 in Blacksburg and also made a $1 million contribution to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.
The Washington Nationals Baseball Club also held a moment of silence before its game on Sunday and displayed the "We Remember" logo on its video board as well and sent the a letter to President Tim Sands and the Virginia Tech Community - CLICK HERE for PDF.
