Important information available for those attending baseball games this spring

BLACKSBURG – With the much publicized major upgrading and enhancement project currently taking place at English Field at Union Park, there is some very important information that the Virginia Tech Athletics Department would like to get out to all fans that will be attending Hokies baseball games in 2017.

The department has created a “Gameday” page that can be viewed by CLICKING HERE. On the page is a “Frequently Asked Questions” section that ranges from entering the park and tickets to concessions and bathrooms. There is also an interactive overhead map of the area that highlights the best places to park for the game and the suggested routes to take to avoid construction areas and find the entrance.

The site also features renderings of what English Field at Union Park will look like when it opens in 2018 - and clicking an individual slide will enlarge it. The site also has links to two stories regarding the enhancement project.

The marketing department has also finalized its promotional schedule for the home baseball season. Below are the dates and promotions, CLICK HERE for the entire 2017 baseball schedule.

For ACC Friday/Saturday/Sunday series:

• Friday - A variety of theme nights
• Saturday - Signature Saturday (select player trading cards will be given away to early arriving fans, and then those players will be available to sign autographs after the game)
• Sunday - Family Sunday (bring the family for Baseball Bingo, Junior PA Announcers, and more!)

• 3/14 vs. Canisius - $1 Menu Day at concessions
• 3/17 vs. Florida State - St. Patrick's Day game
• 3/18 vs. Florida State - Signature Saturday
• 3/19 vs. Florida State - Family Sunday
• 3/21 vs. William & Mary - $1 Menu Day at concessions
• 3/28 vs. Campbell - Military Appreciation Day
• 3/31 vs. Boston College - '90s Night
• 4/1 vs. Boston College - Signature Saturday
• 4/2 vs. Boston College - Family Sunday
• 4/13 vs. Virginia - Hokies For Hokies / Hokies Head To Toe (Night 1)
