BLACKSBURG – With Virginia Tech baseball’s eighth annual Baseball Night in Blacksburg event fast approaching the program is increasing its efforts to get information out to those wishing to attend the evening – which features World Series-winning manager and Southwest Virginia native Charlie Manual as the honored guest - click here for original release.
In regards to tickets, there are now several different options available for attendees who still need to purchase. The first one is to order tickets online – click here for more details and to order. For those still looking to pay by check, click on the pdf link above for the order form.
Also, the team will be staffing a table for general information and ticket ordering during the next few Tech men’s basketball home games – Thursday night, 7 p.m., vs. Notre Dame, Sunday afternoon, 1 p.m., vs. Virginia and Tuesday night, 7 p.m., vs. Pittsburgh – on the concourse level of Cassell Coliseum.
Lastly, for those wishing to attend the event on Saturday, February 7 at 6 p.m. – which will follow the Hokies’ men’s basketball game in Cassell against Florida State (a 3 p.m. tip) – tickets can still be purchased at the door.
At the event, which will be held in Lane Stadium’s West Side Stadium Club, guests will also be able to pay for their auction items at the event with a credit card – contrary to prior events.
Auction items are starting to be released, which has included already-framed signed jerseys of the Washington Nationals Bryce Harper, the Washington Capitals Alex Ovechkin and the Philadelphia Eagles LeSean. All proceeds of the auction and banquet will go to Virginia Tech baseball and the Hokies’ efforts to improve various aspects of their program. Recent efforts included the building of an indoor baseball facility beyond the left-field foul pole at English Field, which is available for the team’s use year-round, and enhancements to English Field, which included the addition of artificial turf and expanded dugouts just prior to the start of the 2012 season.
