Hokies sell wristbands to assist Malia Crushes Cancer
Third event of 19 Ways helps bring awareness to neuroblastoma

BLACKSBURG – For the fifth straight academic year, the Virginia Tech baseball team has challenged itself by continuing its 19 Ways campaign, an effort to find 19 ways to help make a difference within the community this upcoming academic year.

Event No. 3 for #Hokieball saw players selling "Malia Crushes Cancer" wristbands on Saturday before the Virginia Tech football game against East Carolina. More informatin about Malia and her efforts can be viewed on her website.

Event No. 2 was volunteering for the 2014 Hokie Helpers move-in campaign, which had players assisting newcomers to the campus in unpacking vehicles and transporting belongings to their new home.

Event No. 1 was Lemonade for Livy - players sold lemonde for three straight days and raised $750 for the Epilepsy Foundation and their goal to find a cure for epilepsy. The full release on the event can be viewed here.

Other events anticipated for the fifth year of 19 Ways include their annual Shave for the Brave and military appreciation breakfast, and assisting in efforts with Micah’s Backpack, Taste of Inspiration (partners with the Special Olympics), No Shave November and Special Olympics bowling nights to name a few.
