BLACKSBURG - Mark Zagunis had three RBIs and Saige Jenco, Andrew Mogg and Miguel Ceballos each drove in two as Virginia Tech baseball defeated visiting James Madison 11-5 in six innings on Tuesday evening at English Field.

The game was called in the bottom of the sixth due to the lights at English Field going dark.

After falling behind 3-0 after the Dukes batted in the top of the first, the Hokies answered in the bottom of the second by sending 12 men to the plate and scoring seven times. Miguel Ceballos plated Mogg and Tom Stoffel with a single to open the floodgates in the frame.

Zagunis would also single home a pair - Jenco and Ceballos - and moved to third on a fielding error. He would come home on a sac fly by Sean Keselica and Mogg would single in Brendon Hayden with the seventh run of the inning.

James Madison (9-16) got one back in the fourth when Bobby San Martin hit a sac fly scoring Matt Tenaglia, who knocked home two runs in the first with a double.

Tech (13-12-1) answered in the home half of the fourth with two more runs as Zagunis drove in Ceballos for his third RBI and Hayden doubled home Jenco, his second run scored of the night.

Every Hokie in the lineup had a hit with Jenco and Stoffel leading the way with three hits apiece. Zagunis, Mogg and Ceballos had two hits each, while Stoffel, Jenco and Ceballos each scored two runs.

On the mound, Tech used six pitchers, which included the first career outing for Alex Perez, who retired the last Duke batter in the top of the sixth. JD Doran picked up his first win as a Hokie, while Mark Gunst dropped to 1-4 for James Madison.

Tech’s game on Wednesday versus Radford is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. first pitch.
