BLACKSBURG - Because Mother Nature wreaked havoc on Virginia Tech's baseball schedule through the first two months of the season – as a result the Hokies lost five games – it’s now become official that they have added four games to their April slate.
To go along with the Radford game that was already rescheduled (and played on) April 2 at English Field, Tech will now bring both Longwood and Campbell to campus for a single game with each. The Lancers will play at English Field on Wednesday, April 9 with a 7 p.m. start, while the Camels visit on Wednesday, April 23 with a 5:30 p.m. first pitch.
Also, the Hokies’ game at Liberty that was postponed last week has a new date, which is Monday, April 14 with a 7 p.m. first pitch up in Lynchburg, Va. With those additions, that meant that Tech will play 19 straight games, and 17 of 20 games in April, in the Commonwealth of Virginia with 13 home dates.
A reminder, that one of the non-home games is a neutral-site contest that features Tech and Tennessee playing this year’s Hokie-Smokey Classic at LewisGale Field in Salem, Va. Tickets to that game can be purchased at the following link.
The Hokies continue on their most recent homestand - eight of nine games at English Field - with their ACC series with Miami this weekend. It starts on Friday with a 5:30 p.m. first pitch.
