BLACKSBURG, Va. – In its final game of the fall season, the Virginia Tech baseball team will hold a special Halloween intrasquad scrimmage at English Field on Tuesday night, Oct. 23 starting at 6 p.m. and will include a Trick-or-Treat twist.

The trick of the evening includes the Hokies actually dressing up in costumes for the event, while the treat is the opportunity for fans to get the traditional goodies associated with the holiday from the players. Fans are encouraged to dress up as well, and as always, admission to the game is free.

The event will also continue a partnership the Hokies have established with the "Pete Frates #3 Fund". This organization was set up to help Frates, who was diagnosed with ALS last April, with medical care and expenses. Frates played for Virginia Tech Head Coach Pete Hughes for three seasons while Hughes was at Boston College.

Last April, when the Hokies welcomed the Eagles to English Field, the teams played an ALS Awareness game to shed more light on the disease and honored the former player by wearing special batting practice jerseys that weekend with the slogan “Strike Out ALS”.
