BLACKSBURG, Va. - With its series win over then-No. 6 Miami over the weekend, which was clinched on Sunday with the help of Andrew Aizenstadt’s pitching performance, Virginia Tech and the right hander have been recognized for those efforts.
First, Virginia Tech has crawled its way back into the national polls as both the USA Today/ESPN Coaches’ Poll and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association have the Hokies receiving votes in their respective polls.
Also, College Baseball Insider named Tech an honorable mention for Team of the Week. That release can be viewed here.
Aizenstadt, who tossed a season-high eight frames with a season-high seven strikeouts, was named to the College Baseball 360 Primetime Performer Honor Roll for his performance in the series win. That release can be viewed here.
Winners of eight of its last nine, Tech will look to continue its winning ways this weekend in its ACC series at Wake Forest.
