Tech hosts Wisconsin, opens ACC slate versus Clemson
Hokies are set for a pair of P5 home matches this weekend

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team is set to host a pair of power-5 matches this weekend as the Hokies face Wisconsin on Friday at 3 p.m. followed by the ACC opener on Saturday at 1 p.m. against No. 27 Clemson.

THE HOKIES (6-0, 0-0 ACC)
Virginia Tech picked up a pair of wins last weekend, defeating Liberty 5-2 and Radford 7-0 in a doubleheader to remain undefeated on the season. Natalie Novotna enters the weekend ranked 61st in the ITA standings. She has 5-1 record this spring. Katherine Butler is 6-0 while Caroline Daxhelet has also posted a 5-1 mark.
THE BADGERS (6-4, 0-0 B1G)
Wisconsin fell 3-4 to Arizona last time out. The Badgers picked up points off wins from Lexi Keberle, ranked 111th, MaryAnn Rompf and Kelsey Grambeau. Keberle is 7-1 this spring while Christina Zordani is adding a 5-1 mark. Melissa Pick is 5-2.
THE TIGERS (5-3, 1-0 ACC)
Clemson is coming off a pair of wins as the Tigers defeated Chattanooga 6-1 and Wake Forest 4-3 last weekend. Against the Deacs, the Tigers secured the win by claiming the doubles point early. Fernanda Navarro, Sydney Riley and Daniela Ruiz picked up the singles win needed for the team. Marie Leduc enters this weekend ranked 21st and is 3-2 in the one this spring. Navarro is adding a 4-1 record while Ruiz is 4-2.
UP NEXT: The Hokies will host Syracuse on Friday, March 2 (2:30 p.m.) before traveling to Wake Forest for a noon match on March 4.
