Tech sophomore to compete in consolation draw

PALM DESERT, Calif. – Tech women’s tennis sophomore Natalie Novotna fell on Wednesday in the opening round of the 2017 ITA Fall National Championships. Novotna will continue to compete in the consolation draw.
Novotna squared off against the ITA’s 10th-ranked newcomer in Loyola Marymount’s Veronica Miroshnichenko. Giving up the first set, 6-2, Novotna powered back to win the second 6-1, but Miroshnichenko rallied for the third to secure it 6-2.
The Tech player will be back on the court Friday after receiving a bye in the consolation draw.
