Collins advances to flight finals at Wake Forest Invite
Tech sophomore plays for title Sunday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –Virginia Tech women’s tennis sophomore McKenzie Collins advanced to the G1 singles finals on Saturday at the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
McKenzie Collins rolled to the win in the semifinals of the G1 flight as she picked up the straight set 6-2, 6-2 win over Western Carolina’s Lauren McCall.
Hokies’ freshman Nika Kozar battled in the semifinals of the A2 flight against host team Wake Forest’s Chandler Carter. Kozar won the opening set 7-5, but the Deacs’ player came back to win the next two 6-0, 6-1.
The Hokies will return to the court on Sunday in the final rounds in Winston-Salem.
