Hokies travel to Wake Forest Invitational

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team is set for the 2017 Wake Forest Invitational Oct. 6-8 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Representing the Hokies are Katherine Butler, McKenzie Collins, Shene Disbergen and Nika Kozar.

Joining Tech and host-team Wake Forest are competitors from Liberty, Marshall, Kansas State, Virginia, James Madison, Wright State, Winthrop, Appalachian State, UNC Asheville, Western Carolina, Davidson, Charlotte, Elon, East Carolina, Louisville, Richmond and William & Mary.

The tournament features 15 singles and four doubles flights. In doubles, the event includes three 16-team draws and an eight-team round-robin draw. The singles draws will consist of eight players each. Each player will compete in three matches, and each doubles team will play four matches. Friday's schedule includes two rounds of doubles, starting at 9 a.m. Singles begin around 12:30 p.m. with the opening round of each flight.
