This week, we sat down with freshman Fallon Delp.
What differences are there from your hometown to Blacksburg?
Fallon Delp: Blacksburg is a little bit smaller, and everyone here is a Hokie.
Where are your favorite spots to go on campus?
FD: My favorite spot to go on campus is Lane Stadium when no one is there. I love the quite transformation from game day.
What got you involved with tennis?
FD: My dad got me and my sister involved with tennis at a very young age. I can’t remember a time where I didn’t play tennis.
If you could play another sport, what would it be? Why?
FD: If I could play another sport it would be surfing. Suring has always fascinated me, and it is something I would like to try.
Who do you look up to the most? Why?
FD: I look up to my parents the most because they have always supported me in anything I have done or tried. They have been my biggest cheerleaders. I hope that one I day I can do the same for my children.
As an incoming freshman, what brought you to Hokie country? How has your time as a Hokie been so far?
FD: I’m from a family full of Hokies. I have attended football games my whole life. Growing up, I had no idea there were other colleges out there. Once my coach offered me a spot on the tennis team, it was an easy decision. It has been an adjustment as a freshman and a student-athlete, but I have had a lot of fun figuring it out.
What’s your favorite tennis memory?
FD: My favorite tennis memory would be from last year when I won the Virginia high school league 3A singles state championship. All my hard work paid off, and I achieved my final high school goal.

FD: Tennis has taught me how to be disciplined, have mental focus and how to work for your goals.
