Virginia Tech to host ITA Summer Circuit Event
Hokies have three women competing in event
BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech will host an ITA Summer Circuit event, July 6-8 at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Va.
Current women’s tennis players competing are Raluca Mita, Laura Ramthun, Frances Peyton and incoming freshman Catherine Butler.
The event is one of four being held in the Mid-Atlantic Region this summer. There are nine other regions hosting four events each, leading up to the ITA/USTA National Summer Championships in Bloomington, Indiana in August. The circuit sets up “open” summer tournaments to provide college as well as junior and alumni players the opportunity to compete in organized events year around.
