GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Virginia Tech women's tennis team will face off with the N.C. State Wolfpack in the first round of the ACC Tournament in Cary, N.C. on Wednesday. The Hokies enter the tournament as the 11th-seeded team in the tournament, and the Wolfpack are the No. 14 seed.
Other first round matchups on Wednesday include No. 12 Maryland vs. No. 13 Wake Forest and No. 10 Boston College vs. No. 15 Pittsburgh.
North Carolina earned the top seed in the tournament followed by Miami, Virginia and Clemson. The top four seeds received double-byes to the quarterfinal round that will be played on Friday.
The winner of the match between the Hokies and the Wolfpack will take on six-seed Georgia Tech on Thursday. Fifth-seed Duke will face off with Maryland/Wake Forest, and seventh-seed Notre Dame awaits the winner of Boston College vs. Pittsburgh.
Play begins in Cary, N.C. on Wednesday morning at 9 a.m.
