BLACKSBURG, Va. — The No. 66 Virginia Tech women’s tennis team takes the court on Thursday for a match against Coastal Carolina at 1:30 pm. before hosting No. 27 Georgia Tech on Sunday at noon in the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
The Hokies (10-8, 3-6 ACC) only played one match last weekend as they fell to No. 3 Virginia on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Ilinca Stoica and freshman Francesca Fusinato will lead the Hokies as they bring a No. 73, Stoica, and No. 98, Fusinato, ranking to this weekend’s matches.
Coastal Carolina (14-3, 2-2 Big South) traveled to Campbell and Gardner-Webb. The Chanticleers took down Campbell 4-3 but fell to Gardner-Webb 5-2 later in the weekend.
Georgia Tech (8-6, 5-3 ACC) went 1-1 last weekend in home matches. The Yellow Jackets fell to No. 17 Clemson 6-1 but bounced back to top No. 64 North Carolina State 5-2. Kendal Woodard and Megan Kurey team up for Georgia Tech to boast a No. 4 doubles ITA ranking.
The Hokies and Chanticleers begin play on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
