BLACKSBURG, Va. — Virginia Tech’s 52nd-ranked women’s tennis team returns home for a Saturday double-header in the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on Saturday.

Tech will take on East Tennessee State at Noon and Morgan State at 5 p.m.

The Hokies completed a 2-0 effort last weekend with wins at William & Mary and Marshall.

Tech shut out No. 43 William & Mary on Friday. Key wins for the Hokies came from Francesca Fusinato, ranked No. 82, as she defeated No. 65 Maria Belaya and Ilinca Stoica as she defeated No. 89 Leeza Nemchinov.

Fusinato and Stoica completed a perfect weekend as they both tallied wins at Marshall as Tech won 5-2 over the Herd. Raluca Mita also went undefeated on the weekend with two wins at No. 5 singles.

ETSU enters Saturday’s match 2-2. The Buccaneers dropped a match at Furman 4-3 on Jan. 30 before bouncing back to defeat Western Carolina 5-2 at home. ETSU boasts two players in the ITA singles rankings with Jessica Brumit and Salma Dahbi both being ranked No. 118.

Morgan State saw its first action of the season last weekend as they fell to Navy 7-0. The Bears are making their first trip to Blacksburg since they came to the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center for the 2012 ITA Atlantic Regional hosted by Tech.

Play gets underway at Noon at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
