Hokies travel to Yale
Tech to compete in third tournament of the fall

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team travels to New Haven, Conn., to compete in the Bulldog Invitational this weekend. The event is hosted by Yale University at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

Also making the trip to New Haven will be Boston College, Dartmouth, Brown, Purdue, Iowa and Penn State.

Sophomore Ilinca Stoica will compete in her first fall tournament of the year this weekend.

Sophomore Raluca Mita and junior Carol Kahoun look to build on third place finishes at the Hokie Fall Invite last weekend, while senior Isel Martinez-Marcos comes off a second place finish. Senior Tea Ivanovic saw action in the Hokie Fall Invite last weekend and will also travel to Yale.

Sophomore Kelly Williford will compete this weekend after a trip to Hilton Head, S.C., for the ITF Circuit last weekend.

Rounding out the Hokie effort will be sophomore Laura Ramthun, who saw action last weekend at the Hokie Fall Invite.

The Hokies begin play on Friday and continue through Sunday. Tech returns to action for the ITA Atlantic Regionals in Charlottesville, Va., October 18-21.
