
Skillman, N.J. – Virginia Tech women’s tennis sophomores Ilinca Stoica and Raluca Mita have earned recognition in the 2013-14 preseason rankings as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Stoica sits at No. 112 in the nation to begin the year, while Mita boasts a No. 121 ranking.
Stoica finished her collegiate debut earning All-ACC honors, while also holding a No. 8 ranking in the Atlantic Region. The Piatra Neamt, Romania native tallied 13 wins playing in the No. 1 single spot during dual play as a freshman.
Mita totaled 16 dual wins in her first season with the Hokies. The Bacau, Romania native won six matches at the No. 3 spot, and tacked on five more at the No. 2 position.
The Hokies begin their fall season this weekend, heading to Lynchburg, Va., for the Liberty Fall Tournament.
