BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team released its 2013-2014 schedule this week. The Hokies’ slate includes five fall tournaments and matches against ACC-newcomers Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Notre Dame.

Tech kicks off the fall season with a short trip to the Liberty Fall Tournament in Lynchburg, Va., on September 13 and 14. At the end of September, the Hokies play their first matches of the year in the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center during the Hokie Fall Invite on September 27-29.

Tech continues fall play with a trip to New Haven, Conn., for the Bulldog Classic during the first weekend in October. Two weeks later, the teams heads to Charlottesville, Va., to participate in the ITA Regionals. The fall season wraps up with the Kitty Harrison Invite in Chapel Hill, N.C., on November 8-10.

The Hokies begin their spring campaign with a home double-header against Elon and Davidson on January 18. Notable matches for the Hokies outside of the ACC include trips to Michigan, who finished No. 10 in the ITA rankings last season, and William & Mary (No. 44) and neutral site matches against Tulsa (No. 29) and Yale (No. 36).

Tech will begin its ACC campaign by welcoming Pittsburgh to Blacksburg on February 22. A week later, the Hokies will travel to Syracuse for their first ACC match against the Orange. Tech will also travel to Notre Dame on April 11.

The Hokies host Virginia for a noon match on March 29. Tech rounds out its home slate with Boston College on April 13. The final matches of the season will be trips to Miami on April 18 and Florida State on April 20.

Tech will look towards the ACC Tournament on April 25 with hopes to repeat last year’s performance as they upset Duke in the first round.
