
BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team completed the final day of the Hokie Fall Invite this afternoon at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. The Hokies struggled from the start as opposed to the rest of the tournament when doubles started things off on the right foot.
Raluca Mita and Kelly Williford dropped the final of Flight A doubles 8-6 to take second in Flight A doubles as Ilinca Stoica and Isel Martinez-Marcos fell in the Flight A third place match 8-1.
Singles play followed the early morning doubles as Raluca Mita led the Hokies with a 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (6) win in Flight B to take third place. Tea Ivanovic also took third place in Flight C with a dramatic 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10) win.
The Hokies are now off until they host the ITA Regionals at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center October 18-23.
