Tech hosts Georgia Tech and Clemson in final home weekend
Women's tennis will honor seniors Shannon Betts, Martha Blakely, Katie Blow and Courtney Rauscher this weekend.

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The No. 66 Virginia Tech women’s tennis team will wrap up its home schedule this weekend, hosting No. 25 Georgia Tech on Saturday and No. 24 Clemson on Sunday. Both matches are slated to begin at noon at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. The Hokies will honor seniors Shannon Betts, Martha Blakely, Katie Blow and Courtney Rauscher prior to Sunday’s match.

Tech (12-8, 3-4 ACC) split last weekend, picking up a 4-3 win at Wake Forest before falling to NC State, 4-3. The Hokies won the doubles point against the Wolfpack and picked up singles wins from Betts and Carol Kahoun.

Kahoun has tallied a 13-7 record in duals during her freshman season while Betts is 12-7. Emily Lauten is adding an 11-8 record. Blakely and Rauscher are 9-10 and 8-8, respectively.

Georgia Tech (9-9, 3-4 ACC) fell to Duke and North Carolina last weekend. The Yellow Jackets are being led by No. 17 Jillian O’Neill, who has posted an 11-6 record in the No. 1 singles this season. Caroline Lilley is ranked 85th and is 4-3 overall on the season while Elizabeth Kilborn holds an 11-10 overall record and is 108th in the ITA.

O’Neill also holds a doubles ranking with partner Alex Anghelescu. The 10th-ranked duo is 10-8 on the season and 8-7 in the No. 1 doubles.

Clemson (11-8, 4-3 ACC) fell to Duke and North Carolina last weekend. Freshman Beatrice Gumulya picked up singles wins in both matches for the Tigers. Leading Clemson this season is No. 55 Keri Wong with a 20-9 overall record including 14-2 in the No. 2 singles.

Klara Vyskocilova is ranked 88th and has a 20-7 record on the season, including 13-5 in duals. Wong and Josipa Bek are ranked 17th in doubles and are 15-7 this season with a 6-4 mark in the spring.

The Hokies will wrap up the regular season next weekend, traveling to Florida State and Miami.
