BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team will host the 18th Annual Hokie Fall Invitational, Nov. 4-6 at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Va.

Eight teams will join the Hokies in the weekend event including East Tennessee State, Elon, Liberty, UMBC, Radford, Tulane, William & Mary and Wofford. On Friday will be two rounds of doubles followed by one rounds of singles.

On the court for the Hokies this weekend will be Isel Martinez-Marcos, Martha Blakely, Courtney Rauscher, Tea Ivanovic, Emily Lauten and Katie Blow.

In the flight A singles Martinez-Marcos has an opening round bye, but Blakely will face Sarah Evans of Wofford. Rauscher has a first round bye in the flight B singles.

In the C flight singles, Ivanovic squares off against Radford’s Taylor Newman. Lauten and Blow will both compete in the D flight against Katy Canada (Elon) and Jessie Boda (Liberty), respectively.

Blakely and Rauscher will pair up in the A flight doubles. After a bye in the opening round, the Tech duo will face the winner of Elon’s Maria Camara Ruiz and Wofford’s Othilia Lindqvist and Julia Paulson in the second round.

In the flight B doubles, Ivanovic and Martinez-Marcos have an opening round bye, but in the second round the Hokie tandem will square off against the winner of Radford’s Hannah Crawford and Meg Napolitano and Liberty’s Boda and Annisha Domenech.

Also competing in the B flight doubles for the Hokies is Blow and Lauten. The pair will face UMBC’s Isabel Aldunate and Heidi Danielsson in the opening round.

Saturday’s schedule will have one round of doubles followed by two rounds of singles. The finals of all flights will be played on Sunday. All matches are slated for the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on the Virginia Tech campus. Tournament draws will be updated online throughout the weekend.
