BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team will compete in the Martha Thorn Invitational hosted by West Virginia University, Oct. 7-9 at the WVU Tennis Courts and the Evansdale Recreation Center.
Competing along with the Hokies and the Mountaineers are players from Pitt, Ohio State, Duquesne, Cleveland State and Youngstown State.
On the court for Tech this weekend will be Tea Ivanovic, Isel Martinez-Marcos, Emily Lauten and Katie Blow.
Ivanovic will face against Carolyn Jesco of Youngstown State while Martinez-Marcos will square off against Ohio State’s Tiffany Dittmer with both matches in the singles A flight. In the single B flight Lauten will play Nicole Janek of Cleveland State and Blow will face Pitt’s Taylor Washington.
In doubles all four Tech players will compete in the A flight with Blow and Ivanovic playing Megan O’Sullivan and Vanessa Steiner (Duquesne). Martinez-Marcos and Lauten pair up against Martha Burak and Jesco (YSU).
Competition will begin Friday morning at 9 a.m.
