WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech women’s tennis player, Martha Blakely, advanced to the main draw in doubles at the Williamsburg ITF Circuit on Monday in Williamsburg, Va.

Blakely teamed up with Eva Raszkiewicz for a 6-3, 6-0 decision over the pair of Jessica Lawrence and Deborah Suarez. Blakely and her partner move on to the doubles main draw to face Nikola Hubnerova and Margaret Lumia.

The Tech senior received a bye in the opening round of singles on Sunday to advance to Monday’s round of 32 where she faced off against USA ranked (183) Katrine Isabel Steffensen. Blakely fell with scores of 6-4, 6-1.

Doubles will resume on Wednesday.
