BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team will spend the weekend in New England with matches at No. 64 Dartmouth and the ACC opener at Boston College.
The match against the Big Green is scheduled for Fri., Feb. 11 at 1:30 p.m., at the Boss Tennis Center. Live video streaming of the match will be available at http://www.livestream.com/dartmouthtennis. The Boston College match will be played on Sat., Feb. 12, at 3 p.m., at the Weymouth Club in Weymouth, Mass.
Virginia Tech (2-2) dropped two home matches last weekend against No. 11 Tennessee (6-1) and No. 55 Marshall (3-4).
Dartmouth (1-3), ranked No. 64, dropped a 4-3 decision on Wednesday at Boston University. The Big Green’s other two losses were to then-No. 53 Marshall (6-0) and No. 10 Clemson (7-0). This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Boston College (2-2, 1-0) defeated Maryland, 4-3, last Friday in both teams ACC opener, but lost, 5-2, at Harvard on Saturday. The Eagles play host to Brown on Thurs., Feb. 10, before taking on the Hokies. Tech leads the series with Boston College, 10-4, and defeated the Eagles, 5-2, last year in Blacksburg.
Following this weekend’s activity, Tech returns home next weekend to play host to Maryland on Fri., Feb.19, at 1 p.m., followed by matches against Maryland-Baltimore County (9 a.m.) and Davidson (5 p.m.) on Sat., Feb. 20.
