Regular season concludes against Wolfpack, Demon Deacons
Seniors to be honored prior to Sunday match

BLACKSBURG, Va. --- The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team will conclude the regular season with home matches against NC State and No. 37 Wake Forest. The matches will take place at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on the Virginia Tech campus and Tech senior Inga Beermann, Jessica Brouwer and Abbey Walker will be honored prior to Sunday’s Wake Forest match.

Virginia Tech (11-10, 1-8), ranked No. 62 in this week’s ITA national poll, defeated No. 71 Marshall, 4-3, at home on Wednesday to snap a six-match losing streak. The Hokies are currently tied for 10th in the ACC with Maryland and NC State.

NC State (4-15, 1-8) has dropped its last six matches. including losses last weekend at Miami (0-7) and at Florida State (1-6). The Wolfpack edged the Hokies, 4-3, last year in Raleigh, N.C.

Wake Forest (12-9, 3-6) is currently seventh in the ACC and has lost five straight prior to Saturday’s match at Virginia. The Demon Deacons fell to Duke (0-7) on Wednesday in their last match. Wake Forest defeated Virginia Tech 6-1 last season in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Following this weekend’s action, Tech will travel to Cary, N.C., Apr. 16-19, to participate in the ACC Championships.
