BLACKSBURG, Va. --- The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team travels to Richmond, Va. Saturday for a match at No. 38 Virginia Commonwealth. The 11 a.m. match will be held at the Thalhimer Tennis Center on the VCU campus.

Virginia Tech (6-1), ranked No. 37 in this week’s ITA national poll, cruised to easy victories at home last weekend over Liberty (7-0) and Davidson (7-0). In fact, five of Tech’s six wins have been by 7-0 scores.

VCU (6-4), ranked No. 38 nationally, dropped two matches earlier this season at the ITA National Indoor Regional hosted by Duke. The Rams fell, 6-1, to the No. 9 Blue Devils in the first round and lost a narrow 4-3 contest against South Carolina. Last weekend, VCU split two matches at Penn State defeating the Nittany Lions, 5-2, before dropping a 5-2 match to Denver.

After Saturday’s action, Tech will open ACC play at Boston College on Feb. 27, at 7 p.m.
