BOULDER, Colo. - A pair of Virginia Tech players won their respective brackets Saturday at the Colorado Invitational. The event is being played at the South Campus Courts on the University of Colorado campus and features players from Air Force, Colorado, Illinois, Northern Colorado, Virginia Tech and Wyoming

In the Black Draw, Shannon Betts (Fr., Newnan, Ga.) defeated teammate Martha Blakely (Fr., Reading, Pa.), 6-4, 6-4, in one semifinal while Holly Johnson (So., Tallahassee, Fla.) won a tight, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (8) match against Abbie Probert (Colorado). Johnson then defeated Betts, 6-2, 7-5, in the final.

Two Hokies faced each other in Silver Draw finals as Katie Blow (Fr., Richmond, Va.) defeated Courtney Rauscher (Fr., Evans, Ga.) 6-4, 6-4. Several other members of the team participated in various consolation brackets.
