GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Virginia Tech women’s golf team shot an opening round 300 and is tied with Notre Dame for sixth place at the 2018 ACC Women’s Golf Championship on Saturday. The three-day event is being played at the par 72, 6,122-yard East Course at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Hokies, the 11th seed in the tournament, started on the back nine and jumped out to a fast start. Tech registered nine of its 12 first round birdies before making the turn. The 300 round is the best for the Hokies, now in their third season of competition, in the conference tournament.
