Hokies fourth entering final round at Brickyard Collegiate

The Virginia Tech women’s golf team has a two round total of 597 and is in fourth place entering the final round of the Brickyard Collegiate, presented by Mizuno on Monday afternoon. The three-day tournament is being played at the par 72, 6,155-yard Brickyard Golf Course in Macon, Georgia.

Elizabeth Bose, a junior from Norfolk, Virginia, continues to lead the Hokies. She is at 3-over 147 and is five strokes behind Morgan Baxendale of Vanderbilt.

Amanda Hollandsworth, a redshirt junior from Floyd, Virginia, is tied for 14th at 149 and Emily Mahar, a freshman from Brisbane, Australia, is tied for 23rd at 151. Jessica Spicer, a sophomore from Bahama, North Carolina, is tied for 28th at 152 and Allison Woodward, a redshirt junior from Unicoi, Tennessee, is tied for 31st at 153. Hollandsworth’s even-par 72 was the low round of the day for the Hokies.

Vanderbilt continues to hold the team lead, with a two round total of 3-over 579, eight strokes ahead of ODU. Kennesaw State is third at 594, three strokes ahead of the Hokies. Host Mercer is fifth at 601, Troy is sixth at 607, Chattanooga and Marshall are tied for seventh at 611 and North Florida, ETSU and LSU are tied for ninth at 618. Jacksonville is 12th at 620, Southern Mississippi is 13th at 631 and Samford is 14th at 635.

The final round will be played on Tuesday morning, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The Hokies will be grouped with Mercer and Troy and will begin on holes 4,5 and 6. Live scoring is available on Hokiesports.com, via a link from BirdieFire.com.
