Elizabeth Bose tied for 27th at US Women's Amateur

Virginia Tech golfer Elizabeth Bose shot an opening round 1-over 73 on Monday and is tied for 27th place at the 2017 Women’s U.S. Amateur Golf Championship. The week-long event is being played at the San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, California.
Bose, a rising junior from Norfolk, Virginia, is one of four Hokies in the tournament. Anne Taylor Hough, a rising junior from Spartanburg, South Carolina is tied for 94th at 77, Sarah Spicer, a rising sophomore from Bahama, North Carolina, is tied for 120th at 79 and Emily Mahar, an incoming freshman from Phoenix, Arizona and Brisbane, Australia, is 155th at 85.
Following Tuesday’s second round, the top 64 golfers will enter match play. All rounds of match play will be broadcast by either FS1 or usga.org, culminating in a 36-hole final match, to be played on Sunday, Aug. 13.
