Four Hokies set for Women's US Amateur
Play begins Monday morning in Chula Vista, California

Four Virginia Tech golfers will compete in the 2017 Women’s U.S. Amateur Golf Championship. The week-long event begins Monday, Aug. 7 at the San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, California.
Hokies Elizabeth Bose, a rising junior from Norfolk, Virginia, Anne Taylor Hough, a rising junior from Spartanburg, South Carolina, Sarah Spicer, a rising sophomore from Bahama, North Carolina and Emily Mahar, an incoming freshman from Phoenix, Arizona, all advanced through regional qualifying to earn berths in this year’s event. All four players will play for the Hokies this upcoming season.
Bose will tee off on Monday at 7:30 a.m. from the 10th tee. Spicer will tee off at 8:20 a.m. from the first tee. Mahar will tee off at 12:40 p.m. from the first tee and Hough will tee off from the 10th tee at 1:10 p.m. All times are Pacific Time.
The field of 156 golfers will begin play Monday morning for two rounds of stroke play. Following Tuesday’s second round, the top 64 golfers will enter match play. All rounds of match play will be broadcast by either FS1 or usga.org, culminating in a 36-hole final match, to be played on Sunday, Aug. 13.
