Jessica Spicer advances to match play at North & South

Virginia Tech golfer Jessica Spicer posted a two-day total of 12-over 154 and has advanced to match play at the 115th North & South Amateur Championship, being played this week. The five-day event is being played at the par 71, 6,332-yard Pinehurst #2 in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
Spicer, a rising sophomore from Bahama, North Carolina, posted rounds of 76 on Monday and 78 on Tuesday to finish tied for 27th place in stroke play and advance into match play. The top 32 individuals following the two rounds of stroke play advanced to match play.
Spicer will be matched with Jackie Chulya of Columbia University. Their Round of 32 match will begin at 7:48 a.m. from the first tee on Wednesday morning.
Earlier this summer, Spicer won the North Carolina State Amateur.
