Amanda Hollandsworth advances to match play at State Amateur
Tech standout looks to continue strong play in VSGA events

Virginia Tech golfer Amanda Hollandsworth posted a two-day total of 5-over 147 and has advanced to match play at the Virginia State Golf Association’s Women’s State Amateur Championship, being played this week. The four-day event is being played at the par 71, 5,980-yard Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, Virginia.
Hollandsworth, a rising junior from Floyd, Virginia, posted rounds of 74 on Monday and 73 on Tuesday to finish in fifth place in stroke play and advance into match play. The top 16 individuals following the two rounds of stroke play advanced to match play.
Hollandsworth is the fifth seed and will be matched with 12th seed Khushboo Thiagaraj of Radford University. Their Round of 16 match will begin at 8:24 a.m. from the first tee. Hollandsworth was a finalist in the event in 2013 and 2016.
