The 14-team event features teams from East Coast. Along with the ACC, competing teams represent the Big Ten, SEC, American, and Sun Belt among others. Host Augusta is the defending champion. Tech tied for 10th in last year’s event.
Tech will start a familiar line-up for the tournament. Elizabeth Bose, a sophomore from Norfolk, Virginia, will play in the first position. She leads the team in scoring and finished 14th in SunTrust Gator Invitational last week.
Whitney Stevenson, a senior from Canton, Georgia, will play in the second spot. She is second on the team in scoring and finished sixth two weeks ago at the UNC Collegiate in Jacksonville, Florida.
Allison Woodward, a redshirt junior from Unicoi, Tennessee, will play third for Tech. She finished 20th in the Hurricane Invitational to open the spring season.
Amanda Hollandsworth, a redshirt sophomore from Floyd, Virginia, will play fourth for the Hokies. She is third on the team in scoring this season and a top five and top 10 individual finish in the fall semester. She led the Hokies with a seventh place finish in the tournament last spring.
Jessica Spicer will play in the fifth position for the Hokies. The freshman from Bahama, North Carolina, has played in every match this season and had a top 10 and top 20 finish during the fall portion of the schedule.
The Hokies will play a practice round on Friday. Round one begins on Friday, March 17 with tee times going off one and ten from 9:30 - 11:50 a.m. Round two on Saturday is the same format as the first round and round three on Sunday will be a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Live scoring will be available on Hokiesports.com, via a link from Golfstat.com.
