Play was suspended near the end of the second round due to darkness, as the Virginia Tech women’s golf team sits in a tie for seventh place at the Greenville Regional Preview on Monday, held at the par 72, 6,133-yard Brooke Valley Country Club, in Greenville, North Carolina.

The Hokies opened the event with a 318 in the first round to sit in 12th place going into the afternoon round. Tech rallied in round two, jumping five spots to seventh place, with two holes left to play. Of note, TCU leads the field and has an 11-stroke lead over second place Clemson.

The Bahama, North Carolina, native shot a 1-under par 71 in the first round of competition, marking a career-best round as a Hokie. She trails leader Connie Jaffrey of Kansas State by one stroke.

Sophomore Elizabeth Bose is tied for 28th place overall and shot 81 in round one. Redshirt sophomore Amanda Hollandsworth is tied for 60th, senior Whitney Stevenson is tied for 68th and sophomore Anne Taylor Hough is tied for 72nd place.
