Hokies in tie for seventh place after day one
Hollandsworth leads VT with two under first round

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Virginia Tech women’s golf team sits in a tie for seventh place after the opening day of the 3M Augusta Invitational.

Amanda Hollandsworth led the Hokies in the first round, shooting one-under par to land in a tie for fourth place and recording one of the event’s four opening round eagles. Hollandsworth leads the field on par 5 holes, averaging four strokes each. Joining Hollandsworth in the top 25 is freshman Elizabeth Bose, whose two-over 74 put her in a tie for 17th place after the first 18 holes.

Saturday’s schedule will change based on inclement weather excpected on Sunday, with a 36-hole shotgun format being adopted.
