Hokies in 14th place after first round
Donovan leads Tech with even-par opening day

CORAL GABLES, Fl. – The Hokies sit in 15th place after the first day of the Hurricane Invitational after shooting a 19-over 303 to open play.

Nicolette Donovan leads Tech, currently in a tie for 11th-place after the first round. Donovan’s even-par 71 puts her four strokes out of first place, including 13 pars, the second-highest total among the field. Amanda Hollandsworth, sitting at four-over in a tie for 45th with teammate Whitney Stevenson, who is playing as an individual, leads the field with six birdies during the first round.

The Hokies will tee off Tuesday beginning at 8:10 a.m. paired with ACC opponent Louisville and Baylor.
