LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Seeking her third straight top-15 finish, Virginia Tech freshman Elizabeth Bose fired off a 145 on Monday to help Virginia Tech finish in sole possession of eighth place on the first day of competition at the Cardinal Cup.
Bose’s team-low two-under 145 that included a team-high eight birdies and an additional 19 holes played par. The Norfolk, Va, native is second in the field in average score on par 5 holes (4.75), and is currently tied for eighth place.
Bose was backed up by redshirt freshman Allison Woodward and freshmen Nicolette Donovan at five- and seven-over, respectively. Donovan closely tailed Bose with seven birdies of her own and improved her second round score by one stroke, bested only by Bose’s five stroke improvement.
The Hokies will take the course at 9:15 on Tuesday for the final round, paired with East Carolina and Cincinnati, with Bose hitting the links first. Junior Whitney Stevenson, playing as an individual, will also tee off at 9:15 on the 18th hole.
