WILMETTE, Ill. – Improving their score two strokes from round one to round two, the Hokies finished Monday in sole possession of 14th place after the first day of competition at the Windy City Classic.
Freshman Elizabeth Bose was the team’s low man, streaking up the leaderboard with consecutive two-under rounds. Moving into a tie for seventh place, the Norfolk, Va., native was one of only 11 members of the field to shoot at least four-under par.
Bose’s eight birdies were a team high and redshirt freshman Amanda Hollandsworth added one of four Eagles seen on the course Monday, finishing with seven birdies of her own. Bose led the field on Par 4 holes, averaging 3.88 shots per hole.
The Hokies will take the course at 8:15 a.m., paired with Big Ten powers Minnesota and Wisconsin, for the final 18 holes. Live Stats can be found on GolfStat here.
