Blacksburg, Va. – The Pete Dye River Course at Virginia Tech has been ranked eighth on the Best Campus Courses by Golfweek, in a poll conducted of its golf course raters.
The River Course moves up one spot from last year’s ranking of ninth. The course, dedicated in 2004 and opened in August 2005, has consistently ranked among top golf courses in various rankings throughout the years.
Home course to both the Virginia Tech men’s and women’s golf teams, the Pete Dye River Course of Virginia Tech has hosted numerous top-level events over the past decade, including the 2011 NCAA Men’s Golf East Regional and will host the 2016 Virginia State Golf Association Amateur Championship.
The River Course is tops among two golf courses in the Commonwealth of Virginia and first among seven golf courses at Atlantic Coast Conference member institutions. The River Course is the only course among the top 10 from last season’s rankings to improve this year.
