The last time out, the Hokies turned in four first-place finishes at the Keydet Invitational (VMI) and Gladstein Invitational (Indiana). On the campus of Indiana, freshman Lisa Gunnarsson cleared a height of 4.35 meters (14 feet, 3.25 inches) in the pole vault, while at VMI, sophomore Laurie Barton (800 meters), redshirt senior Patrick Joseph (3,000) and junior Rachel Pocratsky (mile) posted top times.

The men earned the No. 12 position in the country, according to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) earlier this week, the best ranking from the ACC. The women jumped up 50 spots from the preseason ranking, coming in at No. 37, the third-highest ranking in the league.

In the ACC, Tech boasts 16 top-five marks in the conference, while nationally it owns 13 marks that rank in the top 50.
