BLACKSBURG – Former Virginia Tech standout Kristi Castlin posted the second-fastest time of the morning to advance to the semifinal round of the women’s 100-meter hurdles at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeirio, Brazil.
The Douglasville, Georgia, native clocked a time of 12.68 seconds, winning the event’s first preliminary heat of the day. USA teammate and former Clemson standout Brianna Rollins also posted a winning time (12.54) in heat six to capture the fastest time of the day.
The semifinals are set for Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. ET, followed by the final round at 9:55 p.m.
Castlin was a seven-time All-American as a hurdler at Tech. She concluded her career in 2010.
