GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – After a record-setting weekend, Thomas Curtin was named the ACC’s Track Co-Performer of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
At the Iowa State Classic, Curtin ran the 5,000 meters in 13:37,10 to set a program, facility and meet record in his first place finish of 68 athletes.
The senior topped his previous Virginia Tech program record to rank No. 2 in the country following his first ACC honor this season.
Curtin was honored with fellow distance runner, Justyn Knight who also set several records on Friday at the Iowa State Classic in his first place finish in the 3,000-meter event.
The Tech track & field team will compete again this weekend to host the Virginia Tech Challenge on Friday and Saturday in Rector Fieldhouse.
