Green takes bronze in 800 to close NCAA Championships
Sophomore runner earns First Team All-America honors

EUGENE, Ore. - Hanna Green took third place in the women's 800 meter race, helped the Hokie women to a 15th place finish, set a new school record and earned First Team All-America honors to close out the Hokies’ time at the 2015 DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by The University of Oregon of Saturday evening.

Green was with the lead pack from the beginning of the race and found herself in the mix for a national title with 100 meters left. Green used a strong kick but was outpaced at the finish with a school record time of 2:01.17. Green earned her second First Team All-America honor of her career with her first coming during the indoor season.

In all, the Hokies ended the meet with one national champion in Irena Sediva (javelin) and three First Team All-Americans in Thomas Curtin (5000), Tomas Kruzliak (hammer) and Green.

The Hokies will be back in action on June 25 when squad members compete at the USA Championships.
