BLACKSBURG, Va. - Eva Vivod was named ACC Field Performer of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Competing in her first meet this season, Virginia Tech’s Vivod joined a pair of teammates (Irena Sediva and Sabine Kopplin) in the nation’s top-15 in the javelin throw after taking the eighth spot nationally with an impressive throw of 173-8 (52.94 meters) at the Highlander Invitational hosted by Radford University. Vivod’s mark was the best at the meet by almost 33 feet.
Vivod earns the honor for the first time this season, having received the honor once last year. She joins Sediva, who garnered the honor twice this outdoor season, Chris Uhle and Manuel Ziegler as recipients of the award.
Tech will be back in action this weekend at the Tennessee Challenge and the Payton Jordan Invitational.
