GREENSBORO, N.C. - After an impressive record-setting performance at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, Irena Sediva was named the ACC Field Performer of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
Sediva also earned Division I Women’s Athlete of the Week honorable mention from the USTFCCCA after her javelin throw of 188-2 (57.35m) at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays set a new school record, beating out teammate Eva Vivod’s mark set at the Florida Relays last season. Sediva was the highest collegiate finisher at the meet. Her mark currently leads the nation and was just .03m from breaking the ACC record.
Sediva and the Hokies will be back in action this weekend as Sediva heads to the Florida Relays with her fellow throwers and the Tech sprinters while the pole vaulters head to Auburn for the Tiger Track Classic.
