AUSTIN, Texas - Irena Sediva set a new school record in the women’s javelin throw to pace the Hokies at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Sediva’s heave of 188’2” (57.35m) beat out her teammate Eva Vivod’s mark set last season. Sediva finished in second-place overall and was the highest collegiate finisher at the meet. Her mark currently leads the nation prior to this weekend.
Marek Barta, competing in the men’s discus throw, finished in sixth place overall. Barta’s throw of 188’2” (57.36m) is the second furthest ever thrown by a Virginia Tech athlete.
That concludes the Hokies’ weekend at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
